Planned Parenthood

There is opportunity for training in focused OB ultrasound examinations at Planned Parenthood on Wednesdays at 9 am.   This experience is supervised by the Planned Parenthood staff and must be scheduled in advance - PLEASE CONTACT DR. FONG TO SCHEDULE your date.  

Once scheduled, complete the required paperwork here and bring it with you to the clinic.

• PGY1 residents may attend 1 session during the Introductory US Rotation, depending on scanning progress
• PGY 2 residents should plan to attend 1 or 2 of these sessions during the US rotation

You can expect to see 10-20 patients during the day.  For each patient, you will obtain 1 or 2 printed ultrasound images.  If the patients has both a transabdominal and a transvaginal ultrasound performed, be sure to print an image for each study type.  The images will need to be scanned and uploaded into Qpath under the appropriate study type (either transabdominal or transvaginal OB).

In advance, please make sure to read the OB/GYN chapter in Noble's Manual of Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound (or alternate introductory text).  There are also some very good reference materials to study in the clinic, for downtime in between patients.
